El 17 de dic de 1998 se inaugura el edificio Destacamento Punta Pirámides. Antes funcionaba donde hoy es Oficina de Turismo. No solo son los guardianes de la seguridad en la navegación sino también que intervienen en la asistencia y salvamento de buques, aviones, vidas y bienes en aguas jurisdiccionales de Península Valdés. Asimismo, controlan el correcto funcionamiento de las embarcaciones de avistaje de ballenas y protegen a los pasajeros y la tripulación.

On December 17, 1998, the Punta Pirámides Detachment building was inaugurated. Before it worked where today is the Tourist Office.
